South Florida Country Music Awards votes are in: Luke Combs tops list

Votes have been tallied in the South Florida Country Music Awards contest, and Luke Combs took top honors for 2019 Entertainer of the Year.

The awards list is peopled with celebs like Combs, but up-and-comers closer to the organization’s home base state are also favorites.

One top award winner, Eli Mosely, served in the US Marines, and with lines like “You’re my trailer park princess,” his work stands out as authentic country rising to the top in a music genre where pop has blended itself into mainstream country. Changes ahead for the Daysies in 2020

firepitFinally Rebecca, Jennifer, and I had a chance to get together and talk about what’s ahead for The Crazy Daysies in 2020. Some things will change, but the most important thing will stay the same.

The band will be doing more shows out of the area. As the Daysies’ Web presence has grown, their supporter base has broadened. In addition to Florida cities, we’ve got Georgia, South Carolina, and maybe North Carolina in our sights for right now. I’m building a Spotify playlist, Indie Art South Indie Selects. I’ve been wandering around Facebook and other sites in hopes of finding songs that stand out from the pack. My latest find is an original song titled “Shelter”. South Florida Country Music shared the song in a video featuring Jodi Gaines and Eleni Skiba. These talented musicians were new to me. South Florida Country Music hails return of country to SunFest

SunFest is a big music festival held annually in downtown West Palm Beach (FL) on the waterfront. Of late the festival was heavy on pop, rock, and reggae. The 2019 SunFest adds a genre—country music. The country act is most definitely high profile. Catching up with the Crazy Daysies

The Crazy Daysies are in perpetual motion these days, and it’s hard sometimes even for me to keep up. They peppered me with questions when they were young. Now it’s me bugging them about venues, gig times, and paperwork. Summer will be busy, and I’ve already advised them to stock up on bug repellant for outdoor gigs in the South.
