Ricky Gervais hits a China nerve at Golden Globes

Awards shows for US royalty aren’t my thing, but media have gone wild over the Golden Globes hosted by Ricky Gervais last night. Most outlets are focusing on his insults to the tinselati who attended the gala.

Are awards shows like The Oscars declining because of politics, or something else?

Early reports on ratings for The Oscars are in, and it looks like those ratings won’t be good. It’s still a bit early—numbers will certainly be adjusted.
