How we saved money when ordering promo merchandise

Crazy Daysies coffee cup
The Crazy Daysies have new merch like this coffee cup.

In the last month, we knew we had to replace merchandise because inventories were getting low.

I had no idea how time-consuming this would prove to be. I had no idea how hard it would be to find a company with prices that didn’t require us to buy hundreds of pieces of an item in order to get a good wholesale price. You can only charge so much when you resell a  t-shirt, right?

I learned something from Rebecca as we navigated our way through websites and catalogs.  Continue reading “How we saved money when ordering promo merchandise”

Indie artists in Florida may celebrate results of Yelp study

If you’ve ever looked for reviews of businesses, chances are you’ve come across Yelp, a website enabling the public to post reviews. It’s a popular site, and naturally a great deal of data can be mined from those reviews.

That’s probably one reason Yelp now publishes a report titled “Yelp Economic Outlook.” Results of this year’s report may lead indie artists to celebrate if they live in the Sunshine State.  Continue reading “Indie artists in Florida may celebrate results of Yelp study”

When I began to cover a film in progress in Jacksonville, I had no idea what was in store. I wrote about the film because I’ve known and respected the producer of I Am Going to Kill Someone This Friday for years.

Once I did an update to the original article, I began to get emails and requests on social media.

Frankly, I simply had no idea.  Continue reading “Writing about locally produced film opened door on Florida show biz community”

Yes, the Crazy Daysies are learning as they go with Facebook Live

Crazy Daysies at Waffle House
After a late night gig in Georgia, we were all starving. The first thing I said when we finally found a place open was, ‘Thank God for Waffle House’. (L to R: Jen Day Thompson, Rebecca Day/The Crazy Daysies)

When the Daysies started talking about doing a Facebook Live weekly show, I admit I had my doubts.

We’d already tried FB Live after the band collected a lot of food and supplies from supporters for a local pet charity. Jennifer and Rebecca delivered the food and supplies in person.

When I reviewed the video, I realized we had a few challenges.  Continue reading “Yes, the Crazy Daysies are learning as they go with Facebook Live”
