Author Dorothy K. Fletcher will share her stories at the launch of the new Friends of the Library speaker series at the library in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Dorothy has written nonfiction articles, a novel, books of poetry, a children’s book, and books on history. To say she is versatile is an understatement.

I’ve known Dorothy for quite some time, and she is a fascinating speaker. We shared the podium at the US Library of Congress for Florida Poets Arrive, and my publisher also brought out her poetry book, Zen Fishing and Other Southern Pleasures.

Our paths crossed during our book tours, and Dorothy was one of the bright spots in those endeavors.

Dorothy touched the lives of countless children as a teacher for 35 years. Just last night, one of her former students, now an attorney, told me he hated English until he had Mrs. Fletcher for a teacher. “She made it fun,” he said.

If you can, check out Dorothy’s talk for the Friends of the Library in Ponte Vedra Beach    [101 Library Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082]. It’s free to the public, and well worth your time.

If you are an aspiring author or know one, Dorothy is a fountain of information about writing and publishing. Hat tip to my friend and fellow author for her amazing talent and accomplishments.
