World Market is holding a contest to determine the best presentation of a Christmas classic. All you have to do is make a video and submit it. The winner will receive a number of prizes, including a recording session at a Los Angeles studio with engineer, song mixing, on-site vocal coach & producer. It’s important, if you are going to enter, to read the rules and make sure you comply.

The deadline for the Cost Plus World Market Star Maker Song contest is 12-8-18, but that competition isn’t the only holiday option coming your way.

The Star Maker (World Market) contest rules require those who enter to make and upload a video of you singing the familiar tune “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” In addition to the recording session, the top winner will receive roundtrip airfare for two to Los Angeles, hotel accommodation for four days and three nights, a $1,000 World Market gift card, and more.

It’s important to follow all the rules—you can access them via the Cost Plus World Market page on Facebook. There are also prizes for those who don’t win top place, and some stores also have a contest option.

The World Market/Cost Plus Star Maker Song Contest isn’t the only holiday contest for musicians. There’s another contest open until December 7, 2018—the Independent Music Awards. This contest offers lots of options for original works.

The weeks ahead of the Christmas holidays are always busy, but sometimes, stress is a great spark for creativity. Both contests present opportunities to indie artists.
