Aaron Lewis is all over the place as guitar contest commences

Aaron Lewis 'Sinner'

Aaron Lewis is often viewed by lovers of traditional country music as the real thing despite the fact he’s also widely known as lead vocalist for alt-metal band Staind. Lewis appears to be focusing right now on his solo career in country music, and he is literally all over the place, the place being the USA. Lewis also signed a special guitar slated for giveaway, and you can take your shot at winning it.

By week’s end, Lewis will perform in Norman, Oklahoma before heading to states like Louisiana (June 23), Florida (June 28), Illinois (July 14) and Ohio (August). You can check out all the ‘Sinner’ tour dates on his official website. As a Floridian, I wish he had booked a gig somewhere on the East coast side of our state—he’s only doing one show here and that’s in Pensacola. Lewis will crisscross the nation as part of what looks like an intense tour schedule.

Currently there’s a contest open to all, with a special guitar the prize. Sponsored by Country Rebel, the Fender Acoustic has been “autographed by the Northern Redneck himself, Aaron Lewis,” and it’s handpainted and laser engraved by a US Marine Corps veteran. The entry page said the contest is open for entries for 24 more days. No purchase is necessary to enter.

There’s another way Lewis is all over the place, though. He doesn’t try to conform to pop images so prevalent in country these days. His videos depict his love of hunting, and his love of country. Outspoken and politically incorrect, Lewis manifests an attitude missing these days because country music has become a mere figment of its own imagination. Don’t believe me? Listen to a typical country station—you’ll hear pop, and even some disco lite, but you won’t hear much country.

You can keep up with Lewis on his website linked above, on his Facebook and Twitter pages, and on his AaronLewisTV channel on YouTube.

I know a lot of musicians who’d love to have that guitar, my daughter included.
