Hoby’s Honey and General Store is a favorite in our family and for many in the Mandarin community, and the shop’s new location is much more convenient than the old place was. Located in a shopping center Jax residents frequent, Hoby’s will have its grand  opening on Saturday, April 7. I wrote about this indie business in an earlier column.

At Hoby’s you will not only find excellent honey, but excellent all-manner-of-things. Ryan Hoback, the owner, supports the indie arts community by carrying a variety of custom made metal sculptures, jewelry, and other wares.

You won’t find better pickles, chow chow, jams, and sauces anywhere.

The April 7 grand opening runs from 8 am to 6 pm. Free honey sticks will be given out at the new location at 11362 San Jose Blvd unit 13 (Jacksonville, Fl 32223). If you’re traveling through the First Coast, a visit to Hoby’s is well worth your time. If you live in Jacksonville, you probably already know it’s worth your time.
